AIG launches entity to buy problem debt

NEW YORK—American International Group Inc. said Tuesday it has launched a previously announced financing entity created by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York that is designed to purchase collateralized debt obligations on which AIG Financial Products Corp. has written credit default swap contracts.
